When Bill Coysh and Dick Henrywood assembled The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery back in 1982 they had no idea how popular the subject was to become. A second volume of The Dictionary and books on transferware by other notable authors have followed. The Friends of Blue and the Transferware Collectors’ Club have reported new patterns and much other information, the latter particularly with their website and ground-breaking database of patterns, but there has been no further attempt to assemble our knowledge into reference form except for Gillian Neale's Encyclopedia of British Transfer-Printed Pottery Patterns 1790-1930. The Transferware Recorder fills this gap.

Dick Henrywood has been researching transferware for more than four decades and he started the Recorder in 2013 with a selection of British views. Five further volumes have followed covering more British views, views of continental Europe, and patterns from literature. For information on any particular issue click on the front cover.

This is a major transferware initiative designed to expand into a comprehensive series of reference volumes, essential for collectors, researchers and dealers. For current information about availability, prices and ordering please contact us.
